My experience over the years have shown me that Nurses are afraid to ask for payment. Yes, in jobs we want raises every year and expect them, but we can not ask for a salary requirement on a job interview and have difficulty asking for pay for consulting. This characteristic probably goes back to our desire to help people. This is true in the legal Nurse Consulting field. You will spend much time reviewing records and writing and re-writing reports with your expertise driving all that. You must set a fee schedule for your LNC practice and stick to it. Provide this to Attorney clients when asked. Do not undercut yourself. It is best to research to see what other LNCs set for their fees. You are an expert in your area and are providing a service. LearnLNC provides some of that information for you.
